Mr. Read is the Chief Executive Officer of Lyons Wealth. As Lead Portfolio Manager and CIO, he is responsible for overseeing the development, management, and distribution of the firm's investment strategies. He is the head of the firm's investment committee for all investment strategies, including equities and derivatives. He serves as co-portfolio manager of the Catalyst/Lyons Tactical Allocation Fund, along with several other programs. In 2009 Mr. Read introduced a small sub-advisor which focused in the tactical space to several large national wirehouses. Within 24 months, he, and his national team of business development professionals, raised over a billion of AUM in that program alone. In 2012 the firm introduced its own, internally developed, tactical program to the market in both mutual fund and separately managed account formats. Nationally recognized as the Catalyst/Lyons Tactical Allocation Portfolio, the funds have received accolades and prestigious rankings from various news outlets and fund evaluation services. Specifically including a "5 Star" rating by Morningstar over the past 10 years1 ; 3 "America's Top Performers – 10 Year" by Thompson Reuters Lipper Fund Awards2; 3 "REFINITIV" Lipper Fund Awards for 2016, 2018, and 20193; "Investors Choice – 10 Year Anniversary" Award for 2021 Top Performers – Equity Category4. After years of continued refinement and updating, the firm has introduced the latest iteration of its strategy, known as the "Lyons Enhanced Yield". This unique and innovative strategy seeks to provide consistent, reliable, and measurable cash flow to investors with the added benefit of controlled downside protection using position specific collars. The strategy is managed as an SMA and has a target annual yield to investors of 12 -15% with no lock-up period or capital calls. Mr. Read began his career as a Wealth Manager for the Private Client Group (PCG) at Merrill Lynch, managing both institutional and individual assets. In 1997, he transitioned to become the Chief Executive Officer and lead portfolio manager for his own firm, specializing on derivative overlay strategies for high net worth clients with concentrated stock positions. Mr. Read is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy, holds a BA in Economics and French from Lake Forest College, where he was also a James S. Kemper Scholar for Business and Economics. He completed the Executive Management Program at Rollins College, along with executive programs at Northwestern Kellogg and Harvard University. Mr. Read designed and has continued to develop and refine the unique investment strategies over the course of his 30 year career.
